When you’re in the racing world long enough, certain weekends stick with you — and this year’s SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Road America was one of them.
Danny Richardson, driver of the No. 22 Hoosier/AutoGear/GentiumTech Chevrolet Camaro, brought home second place in the fiercely competitive American Sedan (AS) class. After his gold medal finish at VIR in 2024, Danny showed once again that he’s a force in the field — steady, fast, and always pushing the edge.
At AutoGear, we’ve had the honor of partnering with Danny and the Richardson Racing crew to engineer a custom 4-speed transmission built for the brutal conditions of American Sedan competition. It’s a gearbox that blends classic Muncie roots with modern refinements — precision-cut gears, optimized ratios, and heat-treated components that hold up under full-season abuse.
“Danny knows how to get every ounce of performance out of his car,” said our lead engineer. “When you have a driver like that, you build something that can keep up.”
From the first turn at Road America to the final sprint, the Camaro and that Auto Gear box stayed rock solid — a testament to smart engineering and relentless preparation.
Congratulations to Danny Richardson and the entire Richardson Racing family on another podium finish. It’s been a privilege to be part of your journey, and we can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
Danny Richardson is undeniably one of the rising stars and race leaders in the SCCA class after winning the Runoffs American Sedan race; congratulations on your many achievements in the sport Danny!
