AutoGear 2-Speed

Two speeds.
Tuned for the track in front of you.

A purpose-built 2-speed for racers who actually tune their setup. Pick the ratio for this weekend’s track, swap it for the next one, and keep your drivetrain responding off the corner.

AutoGear 2-Speed transmission

What’s under the case

Built around a few specific decisions that matter in a racing application.

AutoGear 2-Speed internals and gear cluster

Driveline response

Gun-drilled main shaft

Gun-drilling the main shaft reduces rotating weight without sacrificing strength. Less rotating mass means the drivetrain responds faster — you feel it off the corner.

Between race weekends

Modular cluster design

The gear cluster is serviceable. If you need to swap ratios between race weekends, you’re not sending the whole unit out. That matters when your next race is seven days away.

Fitment

27 or 32 spline output

Two output spline options so the transmission matches your existing hub and driveshaft setup. Choose the configuration that fits your build — no need to change what already works.

15available ratios

Most 2-speeds give you four or five first-gear options and call it a day. That works if you run one track all season. Most racers don’t. The right ratio for this weekend’s track — and the one after it — without pulling the transmission.

How to pick your ratio

A few questions to work through before you call us.

What tracks are you running this season?Longer tracks with higher speeds generally want a tighter first gear ratio. Shorter bullrings want more separation.
What’s your rear axle ratio?Your 2-speed first gear and rear gear ratio work together. Getting these matched correctly is where a lot of racers leave time on the table.
Are you switching tracks week to week?If yes, modularity matters. You want a unit you can adjust without rebuilding.

Not sure where to start? That’s what we’re here for.

2-Speed FAQ

Common questions from racers spec'ing a build.

How many ratios can I run in the AutoGear 2-Speed?

The 2-Speed is available in 15 ratio configurations — built so you can match the right setup to each track without pulling the transmission. Submit an EZ-Spec and we'll help you choose.

What output spline options are available?

27- or 32-spline output, so the transmission matches your existing hub and driveshaft setup.

Can I swap ratios between race weekends?

Yes. The cluster is modular and serviceable, so you can adjust your setup without sending the whole unit out or rebuilding it.

What's the benefit of a gun-drilled main shaft?

Gun-drilling reduces rotating weight without sacrificing strength. Less rotating mass means the drivetrain responds faster off the corner.

How do I choose the right first gear ratio?

It depends on the tracks you run and your rear axle ratio. Longer, faster tracks generally want a tighter first gear; shorter bullrings want more separation. Submit an EZ-Spec or call us and we'll work through it with you.
